Beechtree Care Center, a not-for-profit community organization that provides skilled nursing services for residents of Tompkins County and the surrounding area regardless of ability to pay, is proud to have served a vital role in the Ithaca community for over 89 years. Throughout our long and rich history, our mission — to ensure that each resident achieves and maintains the highest quality of life possible — continues to reflect the compassion and concern our dedicated staff has for our residents.

We have almost completed our newest endeavor:  to transform Beechtree's culture from a medical model to a person-centered model, creating an environment for our residents that reminds them of home.  This process has taken time, but with the generous help from foundations and our community, we have realized this important goal.

Along with this, Beechtree has reorganized its performance improvement program, to enhance quality of care along with quality of life, Our aim continues to be meeting resident-centered goals and objectives for care and services.

It is an exciting time for us.  Our administrator, Patrick Weir, who has been here for four year now, has a vision that the staff shares with him.  As a team, we move forward.
